BOX SECTION ALUMINIUM: This substantial greenhouse features box section aluminium glazing bars, corner posts and ridge beam. In addition, the aluminium base plinth features a heavy box section profile.

MILL FINISH ALUMINIUM Mill finish is the natural colour of aluminium before it is painted. It is cheaper than painted aluminum but just as strong and durable. An unpainted aluminium greenhouse will gradually oxidise producing fine grey powder forms on the surface of the greenhouse. This is the aluminium's natural self protection and it does not harm the greenhouse. Oxidisation occurs quicker in areas of high pollution or in coastal areas.

TOUGHENED GLASS: This greenhouse includes toughened glass as standard. Toughened glass is the best glazing material for use in greenhouses. It is around 6 times stronger than normal glass so it is less likely to break and when it does break toughened glass breaks into harmless small pieces. Toughened glass is heavy which helps to resist wind. Full height toughened glass is supplied in larger size panes of glass with no overlapping glass.

UNIQUE GLAZING SYSTEM: The glazing is retained neatly with a substantial rubber external gasket. This glazing system was originally developed for conservatory glazing. It is a sophisticated glazing system which is stronger and neater than other greenhouse glazing systems.

CHOICE OF DOOR POSITION: Door can be positioned in any place of any glazing panel except in a panel immediately adjacent to a corner. Single doors are the same width as one glazing panel. Double doors are the same width as two glazing panels. This is only possible because of the unrivalled 6'7” eaves height.

FREE SPRINKLER SYSTEM: The sprinkler is the full length of the greenhouse and suspended from the ridge, with sprinkler nozzles at regular intervals and hose attachment at one end. To start watering you just attach your hose in a few seconds with a simple push fit connection.

LENGTH AND WIDTH: In the SIZES & PRICES chart the first dimension listed is the width and the second dimension is the length. The width refers to the angled gable wall. All sizes quoted are the external greenhouse sizes unless stated otherwise.

OPTIONS - you can add any of these options to your basket

  • Installation (in some postcode areas only)
  • Optional mill finish, green powder coated finish or white powder coated finish (or powder coated to any RAL colour of your choice at the same price as white)
  • Shade netting - significant insulation and reduces winter heating costs
  • Staging tray 20" wide and 6" deep - colour to match the greenhouse frame, length to suit the greenhouse
  • High level shelf 4" wide - colour to match the greenhouse frame, length to suit the greenhouse
  • Additional roof vents with automatic openers
  • Large 9 blade manually operated louvred vents
  • Top hinged opening side windows
  • Internal partitions with single door hinged or sliding
  • Door options
  • Additional doors
  • Attractive wooden slatted water butts
  • Propagators
  • Electric and gas heaters
  • Soil heating mats

POWDER COATED ALUMINIUM: The powder coated finish is more attractive than the stark silver grey colour of mill finish aluminium. It also has excellent weathering properties and retains its gloss and colour superbly. A good example of the finish achieved with powder coating is the finish on your washing machine, which is very similar to our powder coated greenhouses. The base plinth is also powder coated to match the greenhouse frame.

RETRACTABLE SHADE NETTING: Shade netting provides significant insulation and reduces winter heating costs. The beige coloured mesh is fitted internally. It is fully retractable and supplied complete with guides and draw rods for effortless opening and closing. The draw rods can be tucked away when not in use.

DOOR OPTIONS: A single sliding door is included as standard but other options include double sliding doors, single hinged doors and double hinged doors. Sliding door options include locks and low thresholds. Hinged doors include a key lock, lever handles and automatic door closer.

VENTILATION: Additional ventilation will improve the air circulation through the greenhouse for better growing results. Automatic openers react to heat to ensure that in hot weather the window will ventilate in your absence. A low level louvred ventilator will provide a healthy air flow through the greenhouse to ensure improved growing conditions and better crops. You should consider which plants you may grow because some plants such as alpines require more ventilation than others.

HEATERS: Heating requirements vary greatly, with less heating required in a sheltered location and more heating required in Scotland. However, one 2 kilowatt fan heater is normally adequate for a 6' x 8' greenhouse anywhere in the UK. Wooden greenhouses are normally cheaper to heat than aluminium greenhouses. Electric heaters normally require a standard domestic 13 amp electricity supply. Propane gas heaters require ventilation when in use.
