Cookies

The use of cookies is regulated by The Data Protection Act 2018 and the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). Our website uses cookies. Cookies are small files that your web browser uses to store information on your computer. You can instruct your browser to disable all cookies but our website will not function without some of these essential cookies. Our website uses several different types of cookie.

Essential cookies are needed for the normal running of our website, as the name suggests. If cookies are disabled the website will not function properly. For example, without essential session cookies it would not be possible to remember what is in your shopping basket or other settings, such as whether you prefer to see the building measurements in imperial or metric.

Functional cookies improve the functionality of the website but they are not essential. These functional cookies provide you with a more personal experience and save you needing to re-enter your preferences every time you visit our website. For example, one cookie remembers the first half of your postcode so that we can customise the information specific to your location. This is needed to show the choice of products and the correct prices in your local area. We do not need your full postcode, just the first half which indicates the local area. Click here for more information about how we use your postcode.

You can can choose whether or not essential or functional cookies are remembered after you close down your web browser. These cookies do not contain any personal information about you and cannot be used to identify an individual user. Essential and functional cookies only last until you close your browser at the end of the session unless you tick the remember box, in which case they may last up to a year if they are not cleared. Click here for more information about cookies.

Our website does not feature external advertising. Analytical cookies are used to improve the user experience using Google Signals, which tracks website visitors and collects data to provide aggregated and anonymised insights. The aggregated tracking data shows the popularity and effectiveness of our website pages and functions, which helps us to improve the functionality of our website. The data also shows whether our audience is primarily mobile devices or desktop computers and which pages are more effective on different devices. We use this research to make changes where necessary to provide a better user experience. We may also use this data for remarketing purposes although we never sell this data. The data is shared with other Google services and may be used to personalise interest-based content and ads providing greater relevance for users. Click here to see Google's privacy policy.
