Summary:
These great value closeboard fencing panels are approximately 6' wide (1.83m) and available in 5 different heights, from 2' high to 6' high (0.6m to 1.8m). Quality features include overlapping vertical feather edge boards and strong horizontal framing for extra strength and rigidity. The panels are supplied with a top capping. All timber is sawn and has been pressure treated, a lifetime preservative treatment which ensures greater durability. The minimum order is three panels and you can add as many extra panels as you need. You can also add a wide range of accessories including posts, post caps, gravel boards and panel fixing clips.

- Minimum 3 panels supplied
PRESSURE TREATED TIMBER: Pressure treatment is a lifetime preservative treatment. The preservative is forced deep into the timber under pressure in a vacuum and penetrates below the surface. All other treatments apply a coat of stain to the surface of the timber only. With pressure impregnated timber, the chemicals are permanently bonded to the cell structure of the wood at a molecular level. Tanalith E is a widely used water based version so pressure treated wood is often described as tanalised. Pressure treated wood is almost colourless except for a slight green tint caused by the copper content in the preservative. No further preservative treatment is ever needed. However, if you want a coloured finish you can paint over pressure treated or tanalised wood with normal wood preservative in any colour.

SLOTTED CONCRETE FENCE POSTS: Slotted concrete posts include a full length slot or groove on each side which hold the fence panels in place without the need for any fixings. The concrete is reinforced along its length with concealed steel reinforcing bars set within the concrete which provide great strength. There are three types of posts available; main, end and corner. The main posts have grooves in opposite sides and are used to join panels that are in-line with each other. The end posts have a groove in only one side and are therefore suited to being the first and final posts. Corner posts have the grooves in adjacent sides so panels can be at 90° to each other.
Concrete fence posts are available in a range of lengths to suit your needs. The posts are set in the ground, normally in concrete. We recommend posts approximately 2' or 24" longer (600mm) than the fence height e.g. a 6' high panel requires 8' long posts.
WOODEN FENCE POSTS: Pressure treated timber fence posts are available in a range of lengths to suit your needs. The posts can be set in the ground, normally in concrete, or you can use galvanized steel post supports. If you plan to set your posts in the ground we recommend posts at least 2' or 24" longer (600mm) than the fence height e.g. 6' high panels require 8' long posts. However, for best results with 6' high panels we recommend longer 9' posts, which are 3' or 36" longer (900mm) than the fence height. Longer posts are also recommended at sites with a significant slope. If you plan to use steel post supports we recommend posts at least 1' or 12" longer (300mm) than the fence height e.g. 6' high panels require 7' long posts.
The most popular post size for fencing is 3"x3" but we also offer 4"x4". That extra inch does not sound much but it is much stronger. We recommend 4"x4" posts at any exposed site, especially for 5' or 6' high panels. It is also worth considering 4"x4" if you are paying for professional installation. The cost of installing fence panels with 3"x3" or 4"x4" posts is usually exactly the same but the fence with thicker posts should last longer.
CONCRETE GRAVEL BOARDS: Concrete gravel boards are suitable for use with slotted concrete posts. They provide a solid base for fence panels and keep the timber off the ground, which prolongs the life of the timber. Slotted concrete posts include a full length slot or groove on each side which hold the gravel boards and the fence panels in place without the need for any fixings. The concrete is reinforced along its length with concealed steel reinforcing bars set within the concrete which provide great strength.
WOODEN POST CAPS: Post caps are not only an attractive design feature but also an important way to protect your investment. The post caps cover and protect the exposed end of each timber post to keep the water out, which ensures greater durability. The wood has been pressure treated, a lifetime preservative finish. They are also a great way to enhance the appearance of your fence. Our post caps all feature a decorative round ball which also discharges rainwater. The wooden post caps are larger in area than the posts to ensure an overhang. The ideal fixings are small and narrow lost head nails fixed from above at an angle.
PANEL FIXING CLIPS: Our zinc plated steel panel fixing brackets are designed to fix our fencing panels securely, neatly and discreetly into timber posts. The L-shaped design means that if all clips are fitted facing the same way, they are only visible from one side. We recommend fixing 5' and 6' high panels (1.5m and 1.8m) using 6 clips per panel, with 3 clips each side. We recommend fixing 3' and 4' high panels (0.9m and 1.2m) using 4 clips per panel, with 2 clips each side.
RAPID SETTING PRE-MIXED CONCRETE: No mixing required, just add water. Sets in 10 minutes. Designed for fixing wooden or concrete fence posts quickly and easily. First excavate the post hole then fill it about one third full of water, then just pour the concrete mixture into the hole. Before pouring the post should be approximately in position. After pouring the position of the post can be adjusted as required before the concrete dries.
The concrete mixture includes sand, cement and additives. Supplied in tough weatherproof plastic bags, each bag contains a manageable 20 kilogrammes. A typical post hole requires 1.5 bags, based on a square hole 10"x10" (250x250mm) in area and 2' deep (600mm). This pre-mixed concrete has been formulated for domestic fence posts. It is not suitable for general concreting, screeding, mortar, render or if an engineer-specified strength is required. The minimum working temperature is 3 degrees centigrade.
TIMBER SLEEPERS: These chunky railway sleepers can be used in a number of different landscaping projects in your garden, such as dividing walls, edging, steps, as bearers or foundation beams under garden buildings, and so on. The overall size is approximately 100x200mm and 2400mm long (approximately 8ft), though they can be cut to suit on site if required. They have been pressure treated for added longevity. Pressure treatment is a lifetime preservative treatment.
MICROPOROUS PRESERVATIVE - DELIVERED TO YOUR DOOR: Our quality microporous preservatives are impervious to water but not to water vapour. This allows the wood to breathe. You can order up to 3 separate colours if required. At least two coats are normally required with a further coat at periodic intervals.
Our 3 star preservative is practical and affordable with a choice of 4 colours. It covers around 10 square metres per litre and normally lasts 1-2 years before a further coat is required.
Our 4 star preservative is a high quality preservative which covers around 9 square metres per litre and normally lasts 2-5 years before a further coat is required. It is available with a choice of 12 colours.
Our 5 star preservative is a deluxe high build preservative which can be used to achieve a stunning finish. Each extra coat increases the colour and sheen. It covers around 8 square metres per litre and normally lasts 2-5 years before a further coat is required. It is available with a choice of 12 colours.
Based on average coverage five litres of our 4 star preservative is enough for two coats on an 8'x10' shed or an 8'x8' log cabin. Ten litres is enough for three coats on a 10'x16' shed or a 12'x10' log cabin. Coverage varies according to the smoothness of the surface and the porosity of the timber. We recommend that you order more than you need to be sure that you have easily enough. All of these preservatives are safe for use with children and pets. These microporous preservatives are only available when you purchase a Summer garden building or if you purchased a Summer building in the past. Prices include free mainland delivery to England, Wales and southern Scotland. Colours are only as accurate as reproductive techniques allow.
WATERPROOF COLOUR SEAL - DELIVERED TO YOUR DOOR: This advanced water-based microprous timber treatment uses the latest high-tech nanotechnology to create a long-lasting waterproof wood coating that is environmentally friendly. It is suitable for use on all softwood and hardwood products and is especially recommended for use on pressure treated timber, including sheds, summerhouses, gazebos, fencing and garden furniture. This timber treatment will colour, protect and enhance your exterior wood. It contains a mould inhibitor to protect the coating and can be used on all outside and inside timber. It gives a traditional matt wood stain finish in a range of natural colours. It can easily be applied by sprayer, brush or roller. It is recommended that the second coat is applied as soon as the first coat is touch dry. We advise for ultimate performance the timber has a wood preservative pre-treatment. For the first treatment, two coats are recommended and will give a traditional wood stain finish that is long lasting. A further coat is recommended every 2-5 years. One litre covers approximately 10-12 square metres. Coverage varies according to the smoothness of the surface and the porosity of the timber. On average five litres covers a 12x8 shed with two coats and ten litres covers a 10x20 with three coats. It is recommended that 2 coats be applied. We recommend that you order more than you need to be sure that you have easily enough. The appearance of colours and shades may vary between different screens or devices. Prices include free mainland delivery to England, Wales and southern Scotland.
WATERPROOF CLEAR SEAL - DELIVERED TO YOUR DOOR: Our hardwearing clear seal is ideal as a clear varnish for bare timber or as a waterproof top coat for painted wood and pressure treated timber. It is also ideal as a waterproof floor varnish, especially the polyurethane clear seal. The smooth and shiny finished surface is waterproof and easy to clean. Available in a choice of acrylic or polyurethane, these colourless water based coatings are almost odourless and recommended for smooth planed timber only. One coat is normally required as a sealing top coat on painted or treated timber. A minimum of two coats are normally required on untreated wood. Up to three coats may be required for floors. An unsealed timber floor quickly shows muddy boot marks and other dirt. For best results a floor should be treated at the earliest opportunity while the timber is new and clean. On average five litres of our 5 star clear seal is enough for three coats on a 12'x12' floor, two coats on the walls of an 8'x8' log cabin or one coat on the walls of a 12'x16' log cabin. We recommend that you order more than you need to be sure that you have easily enough. The price includes free mainland delivery to England, Wales and southern Scotland.

SPECIALIST DELIVERY SERVICE: This fencing is normally delivered by specialist trained staff in dedicated vehicles. This ensures less damage. Most cheaper fence panels are delivered by national carriers who cause more damage. Their prices are based on weight and panel sizes. As a result, fencing delivered by outside carriers is often made in lightweight sections with less wood. The benefits of our specialist delivery service include less damage, more rigid panels and heavier construction. Delivery is normally kerbside only.
- All fencing prices include VAT.
